The first working day starts with preparation. Clarify with a specialist the terms, required documents and steps that must be completed before the employee starts work.

Agree the terms first

Clarify the position, workplace, start date, working hours, pay and contract type. Do not automatically copy another employee's terms. The content should match the actual work and applicable requirements.

Collect the necessary documents

The exact set depends on the position and circumstances. Discuss which documents showing education, qualifications, experience or medical fitness are needed. Do not collect information simply because it appears in an old template.

Follow the current registration procedure

The current procedure uses the Employment Register and electronic employment records. Before starting work, the employee must receive the signed employment contract and the relevant copy confirming the registered start of the employment relationship. A file prepared in accounting software does not replace successful registration.

Keep evidence of the steps completed

  • The signed contract and applicable documents.
  • The submission result report.
  • Evidence of delivery where required.
  • The current job description.
