A good accounting service starts with a clear agreement. Price is part of it, but on its own it does not explain how you will get help or who will take on specific tasks.

Start with your business activity

Describe how you sell, how you receive payments, and whether you have employees, inventory or cross-border transactions. Indicate your approximate document volume and any specialised activities. This starts the conversation with the company's actual needs.

Clarify what the service includes

  • Who checks documents and clarifies missing information?
  • Who prepares, signs and files declarations?
  • How are payroll and personnel documents organised?
  • What does annual closing include?
  • Which consultations and additional tasks are agreed separately?

Check experience and responsibilities

Ask about experience with similar businesses and who will answer your questions. When the service includes preparing financial statements, discuss who will prepare them and the applicable legal requirements. Access to accounting software does not itself certify professional qualifications.

Agree access and handover arrangements

The company should know where its documents are kept, how it receives reports and how data is handed over when changing accountants. Distinguish access to a platform from authority to act before public bodies. Also clarify how unnecessary access is revoked.

Compare the same scope

A low monthly price may exclude tasks included in another offer. Request a short written description of the service. Look for effective communication and clear responsibilities, rather than a promise that you will never need to participate.
